Value: A clean, unretouched, Terminix van, in good condition, tired, dull paint with major oxidation on the cab and paint loss on the topper, good decals, no ladder, no box, sold on eBay for $73 USD in mid February 2009.
Value: A clean, unretouched, Terminix van, in near mint condition, bright paint with very few scratches and scuffs, near mint decals, with ladder, no box, sold on eBay for $500 USD in mid July 2010.
Value: A clean, unretouched, 1960 Terminix van, in excellent condition, bright paint with some loss along front edge of the roof and where a rear bumper would be, excellent decals, no ladder, no box, sold on eBay for $521 USD in late August 2011.

It took several years for a Terminix van to make a showing. In late 2008 however, this featured truck went up for bid on Ebay.
Terminix vans are known to have been manufactured in 1959 and 1961. The featured truck is from 1961 as evidenced by the Tonka "T" embossed in the
front bumper instead of the grille. A ladder is missing from its storage location. I would consider the Terminix van more scarce than the 1963 Terminix pickup with topper based on the number of each I have seen auctioned on eBay since 2000. That said, why do the 1963 models sell for bigger bucks? Do you know why? |
